If
you are thinking about coming to worship with us at Beech Grove, and
you have
never been with us before, here is some information that you might find
helpful:
Where
Is The Church?
Beech
Grove is just off the Pellissippi
Parkway at 1519 Topside Road. Coming from the Alcoa / Maryville area
you will
travel north on Alcoa Hwy, take a right on the Pellissippi Parkway
(toward
Knoxville) take the Topside Road Exit. at the bottom of the ramp turn
right and
the church will be about a mile ahead on your right. From Knoxville
travel east
on the Pellissippi Parkway (toward Alcoa) take the Topside Road exit;
at the
bottom of the ramp turn left and the church will be just ahead on your
right.
What
Do I Wear?
There is no correct answer to this question! While some members and
attendees do
wear their "Sunday best", most folks wear casual and
comfortable
clothes on Sunday morning.
When
Do I Need To Arrive?
Traditional
Worship services begin at 9:00a.m. and Contemporary Worship services
begin at 10:30am,, while Bible study hours are
at 9:00 and 10:15 a.m. Plan on arriving about ten minutes
before worship/Bible Study
time to give yourself plenty of time to get to your selected
activity.
See our complete schedule
for information.
What
About Parking?
As you might expect, the early birds get the best places. You can
expect to be
close to any entrance you wish for the 9:00 Worship hour. By the 10:30
hour, we
have still have plenty of parking, just not right at the entrance to
the
buildings. The best news is that we reserve plenty of parking for first
time
guests right by the main worship center entrance.
Why
is Bible Study so important?
It is our policy to always make room for one more person! In a Bible
Study group
you will meet new friends who are interested in knowing more about God
and His
plans for us. The small group you choose will become like a second
family as you
fellowship and study the Bible together. And, don't forget, we keep our
Bible Study
classes small (under 50 on roll in most cases). So, in reality, Beech
Grove
consists of many "small churches" where the real ministry takes place.
As our pastor, Kenny Armstrong, says, if you have only one hour to
spend at
Beech Grove, go to Bible Study! So, with the small Bible Study classes,
we
really "grow smaller as we grow larger"!
What
About My Children?
Beech Grove has an excellent pre-school and children's ministry, and
your
child's security is a top concern. Each child must be registered before
entering
a Bible Study class. Our pre-school & children's
classes are on the
lower level, directly under the Family Life Center (gym). We offer
complete
child care from bed babies to 2 years for all services. Bible
Study classes, of course, are
offered for all ages. Your Preschooler - 2nd graders don't want to miss
the children's
worship. There is an excellent chance that your child
will find friends from his or her school at Beech Grove! See
our complete schedule for information.
What
Can I Expect ?
Each worship service at B.G.B.C. is an uplifting, powerful experience.
We do believe
that worship is a verb! Our praise songs are all posted on a large
screen in the
worship center, so you won't have to worry about getting lost in a
hymnal.
Occasionally, our drama team, will have a part in the service. We offer
two
different styles of worship, giving you the choice that best fits your
needs,
and our pastor, Kenny Armstrong, will share a message that can change
your life - because it is taken directly from God's word and deals with
real
life issues that apply to day to day living. You will have the
opportunity to
"fill in the blanks" with sermon notes provided in your worship
folder. This way you can "carry the message" with you on Monday and
beyond!
I Want To
Join!
You will have the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ at the end of each
worship
service. If you are a Christian, you are welcome to join Beech Grove
Baptist
Church as a member. While you can join at the end of the worship
service also,
you will be required to attend a one-time Membership Information Class
(MIC),
which is offered periodically. Call the church office at 977-4544 for the
date of the next MIC.
