Caregiver Support Groups are open to the public at no cost and with no
attendance requirements. Support Groups are extended to any adult who
is caring for another adult. Support is offered through the simple act
of sharing strength, hope and experience with other caregivers. Blount
Memorial Hospital will provide professionals for guidance and education
in the group.
You are not alone.
* EASE Elder Assessment Service: Have you
noticed memory or mood changes in yourself or a loved one? Is it
increasingly difficult to cope with things that used to be easy? Are
you caring for a senior who is less able to care for him or herself?
YOU ARE NOT ALONE! As our brains and bodies age, medical problems,
memory impairment, personality or behavioral changes and possible
confusion can occur. In addition, financial worries and the loss of
loved ones and support systems can cause tremendous distress and
anxiety. Fortunately, there is a service available in our community
where you can find the help, support and answers that you need. Blount
Memorial Hospital's Elder Assessment service - EASE- is dedicated to
geriatric mental and emotional health. Our team of clinicians includes
physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, and registered nurses.
We provide psychiatric evaluation, treatment, support, education and
referral services. EASE provides care for individuals age 55 and older
and their families or caregivers. EASE is the gateway to the continuum
of senior services available at Blount Memorial Hospital. For more
information or to schedule and assessment, call EASE at 981-2315.
